About the position
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems within a manufacturing environment. This role involves performing both preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical equipment and ensuring compliance with safety and good manufacturing practices. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair existing electrical systems.
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring and components.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, and other electrical devices.
- Troubleshoot and maintain industrial control systems including PLCs and HMIs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep accurate maintenance records.
- Assist and train production employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery.
Requirements
- Two-year Associates degree in electrical related field.
- Minimum of four to five years of industrial maintenance electrician experience.
- Technical certifications and training applicable to industrial maintenance electrical systems.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI).
- Familiarity with industrial instrumentation and related devices.
