About the position

Perdue Foods is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our dynamic Maintenance team at our Rockingham, NC facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the plant's electrical systems and building components, ensuring their safe operation, serviceability, and compliance with all legal regulations, policies, and procedures. Your role is crucial in creating a safe working environment that meets safety standards for associates, management, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities

  • Perform regular adjustments, calibrations, and repair work in response to department demands during both production and non-production hours.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and needs in a timely manner, adhering to OSHA Lockout/Tagout and company safety regulations.
  • Address management concerns regarding equipment performance and inform production supervisors of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions.
  • Maintain logbooks and apply math skills during equipment preventive maintenance stages to calibrate machinery to performance standards.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on assigned equipment to minimize downtime during production.
  • Repair and/or replace equipment promptly to prevent production downtime.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment, while preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of Electrical Apprenticeship or Advanced Technical Electrical training; vocational/technical school preferred.
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills are required.
  • Must possess personal tools and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.
  • Knowledge of math related to maintenance activities is essential for making calculations during repairs.
  • Ability to verify dimensions and diagrams for assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of prior and related experience preferred.
