About the position
The Maintenance Electrician position at Amsted Rail - Griffin Wheel involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within the foundry. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation, with a focus on adhering to OSHA safety standards. The ideal candidate will work independently, demonstrating problem-solving skills and attention to detail in maintaining and repairing electrical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including drive motors and electrical field devices.
- Maintain electrical and electronic equipment, including PCs/PLCs and variable frequency drives.
- Connect to PLCs such as SLC 500 and Controllogix systems, performing troubleshooting and program changes.
- Perform new electrical installations, including conduit and wiring runs.
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and practices in all work activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5 years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and be a self-starter.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate data collection and preventative maintenance tracking.
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced schooling in electrical maintenance or related field.
