This position involves analyzing electro/mechanical problems related to dairy processing and packaging equipment, as well as auxiliary equipment. The focus will be on learning electrical safety procedures, basic electricity, and electrical troubleshooting. You will work closely with current Electrical Technicians (ETs) to monitor and communicate with various Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) while learning the proper procedures. The role includes troubleshooting plant and utility equipment, making necessary repairs, and assisting machine operators in determining when machines should be shut down due to mechanical or electrical issues. Additionally, you will train with plant personnel on the electrical aspects of the position, working towards promotion. Responsibilities also include performing established preventative maintenance procedures on plant equipment, processing requisitions for parts, executing assigned projects under the direction of the Maintenance Coordinator or Maintenance Manager, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You will be expected to continue your education related to job skills, particularly electrical skills, and work a fair share of overtime during breakdowns and scheduled maintenance, including occasional call-ins for emergencies. Maintaining a daily record of work performed on MP2 maintenance software is also required, along with various tasks related to food safety and quality of company products.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze electro/mechanical problems of dairy processing and packaging equipment.

  • Assist machine operators in determining when machines should be shut down due to issues.
  • Train with plant personnel on the electrical aspects of the position.
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures on plant equipment and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Process requisitions to replace parts used during maintenance.
  • Execute assigned projects under the direction of the Maintenance Coordinator/Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and complete daily records of work performed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of basic industrial 3-phase power, including AC and DC motors, relay logic, and programmable control logic.
  • Basic working knowledge of power transmission equipment, mechanical drawings, scales, and symbols.
  • Prior experience in basic industrial electricity or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent (lead/foreman experience preferred).
  • Intermediate computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Excellent troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work well with people and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
