About the position

The Maintenance Engineer B position at Aerotek involves troubleshooting and maintaining various aspects of distribution center operations, focusing on electrical, mechanical, and process-related issues. The role is essential for ensuring the efficient functioning of a state-of-the-art facility, requiring a skilled individual with extensive knowledge in maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit troubleshooting skills in all aspects of distribution center maintenance including electrical, PLC, mechanical, and analytical areas.
  • Apply Safe Work practices and recognize safety-related issues during troubleshooting assignments.
  • Troubleshoot equipment-related problems and process performance issues to determine root causes and choose appropriate solutions.
  • Install electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, fixtures, motors, outlets, and other equipment to increase capacity, repair breakdowns, or improve efficiency.
  • Analyze and repair mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan corrective actions.
  • Assist in testing and calibrating electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC controls under operating conditions with or without specialized contractors.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections of assigned equipment, report findings, and take corrective actions. Record findings in CMMS.
  • Document and communicate recurring equipment malfunctions and reliability concerns, leading efforts to implement corrective actions.
  • Use CMMS to find similar issues for resolution help or to justify replacement equipment. Assist and coach lower-level technicians with CMMS usage.
  • Operate and troubleshoot label application equipment to maintain a documented record of label quality.
  • Assist in routine preventative maintenance inspections of equipment, including lubrication with oils, greases, and other lubricants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, PLC, mechanical, and analytical areas.
  • Experience with mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, gears, shafts, pumps, precision alignment, gearboxes, sprockets, and conveyor maintenance.
  • Proficiency with tools such as multimeters, and ability to read and interpret PLC schematics.
  • 5+ years of industrial experience.
  • 5-7 years of mechanical maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, conveyors, and sortation experience in a distribution environment.
  • A minimum of two years of proven and verifiable electrical/electronic experience.
