About the position

The Maintenance Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning of machinery and systems within a heavy manufacturing facility. This position involves overseeing the preventative maintenance program, managing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and leading projects related to equipment purchase and installation. The role requires collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and a focus on maintaining high standards of reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preventative maintenance program for all equipment including presses, furnaces, cranes, and mobile equipment.
  • Ensure the smooth and continuous reliability of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Champion the purchase of new equipment, including writing specifications, investigating options, reviewing bids, and directing installation.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering on machinery, fixturing, and tooling.
  • Manage contractors involved in maintenance and project work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a mechanical or maintenance engineering role within a heavy manufacturing facility.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience in spearheading large projects such as facility construction and equipment transfer with minimal production downtime.
  • Ability to manage contractors effectively.
