About the position
The position involves responding to service calls in a timely manner, performing maintenance and repair tasks in a hotel environment, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations. The role requires coordination with various departments to complete service and installation work efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Respond to all service calls within half an hour from the time the call is received.
- Determine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, and take immediate corrective action if guest-related or top priority.
- Record actions taken on the departmental work order form.
- Follow specific departmental procedures for repair, maintenance, alteration, and installation work.
- Comply with local, county, state, and federal governmental codes, laws, and requirements.
- Coordinate with other department personnel such as electricians, carpenters, painters, and night engineers.
Requirements
- Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen, and general building construction.
- Vocational training, associate's degree, certification, and/or apprenticeship in one or more areas; state certification or licensure where required.
- Ability to understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdown.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High work ethic and self-initiative.
