About the position

The Maintenance Engineer - Reliability at EssilorLuxottica plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance team by providing advanced technical support, particularly in automation and electronics. This position focuses on enhancing overall maintenance operations, improving equipment reliability, and optimizing costs while ensuring compliance with safety standards. The engineer will work closely with the Engineering Manager and may oversee maintenance technicians, contributing to strategic maintenance planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support to maintenance technicians, troubleshooting and resolving complex automation and electronic issues.
  • Implement and monitor maintenance programs to improve machine reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize costs.
  • Develop, track, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Leverage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to enhance maintenance scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
  • Assist in managing spare parts inventory to ensure availability while minimizing costs.
  • Partner with operations, support departments, and external vendors to drive improvements and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in strategic maintenance planning and serve as a key technical resource.
  • May oversee maintenance technicians depending on leadership abilities.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of automation, electronics, and troubleshooting required.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance planning systems is preferred.
  • Ability to implement and monitor KPIs related to maintenance performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work across departments and with external vendors.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) preferred.
