About the position

The Maintenance Engineer at Siemens is responsible for maintaining the site Preventive Maintenance program, coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities during plant shutdowns, and ensuring the completion of maintenance tasks. This role involves providing support for manufacturing and facilities, developing maintenance technicians, managing spare parts inventory, and enforcing safety rules. The engineer will also drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead maintenance activities to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains site Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Coordinates and schedules PMs during plant shutdown and planned production downtime.
  • Ensures completion of site PMs and calibrations by due date.
  • Provides manufacturing and facilities support to solve or perform vital repairs to maintain the operation of equipment.
  • Coordinates necessary technical training and develops maintenance technicians to optimally perform their job.
  • Develops spare parts budget and ensures adequate inventory is maintained to support production and maintenance equipment.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
  • Works with outside contractors and vendors to schedule service and repair of production and facilities equipment.
  • Schedules and supervises work for maintenance technicians every day to support manufacturing and facilities departments.
  • Enforces plant safety rules to ensure safe operation and troubleshooting of production and facilities equipment.
  • Drives continuous improvement of equipment performance and reliability through Kaizen and TPM.
  • Leads Autonomous and Preventive maintenance activities.
  • Works on assigned CAPAs and non-conformances pertaining to maintenance of production and facilities equipment.
  • Provides maintenance support for after-hours manufacturing operations.
  • Multitasks and prioritizes according to business needs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years Maintenance Tech experience
  • 5+ years Maintenance Supervision experience
  • Understanding and troubleshooting of electrical/mechanical/pneumatic systems
  • Understanding and troubleshooting knowledge of metal fabrication equipment (e.g., press breaks, punches, welding equipment)
  • High School Diploma or GED

Nice-to-haves

  • BS/BA degree in related subject area or advanced degree
  • Strong understanding and knowledge in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical/pneumatic systems
  • Knowledge of GMP's and auditing practices
  • Experience leading change in an industrial manufacturing environment
