About the position

The Maintenance Engineering Specialist provides operational support in managing the roadway maintenance program under direct supervision. This position is part of a career-ladder program, allowing for career advancement without competitive selection. The role involves supporting maintenance staff, analyzing reports, inspecting field operations, and assisting in the bridge inspection program.

Responsibilities

• Supports maintenance staff in developing and revising maintenance policies and Engineering Policy Guide procedures.
• Assists in the analysis and preparation of maintenance-related reports, correspondence, records, and presentations.
• Inspects field operations, work zones, buildings, communications networks, and road conditions, and prepares related recommendations and reports.
• Supports the bridge inspection program as needed.
• Assists in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for roadway maintenance contracts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-certified college or university curriculum.
