About the position
The Maintenance Generalist is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while ensuring a safe work environment. This role requires adherence to Tyson policies and procedures, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to mechanical or electrical breakdowns. The position operates on the 3rd shift, from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Sunday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair all equipment and company assets.
- Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
- Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
- Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
- Comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
- Perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs without supervision.
- Assist with other mechanics as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year of Industrial Maintenance experience or education (industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school).
- Ability to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
- Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
