About the position

The Maintenance I position at the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) is a full-time role responsible for the general maintenance of TNDC facilities and buildings. This includes performing basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, as well as providing custodial support when necessary. The role requires a commitment to safety policies and the ability to respond to building emergencies on an on-call basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic plumbing repairs to water and sewage systems, including replacement of fittings and clearing stoppages.
• Repair or replace glass, tile, locks, hinges, and window coverings.
• Conduct basic electrical repairs to appliances, fixtures, switches, and circuits.
• Paint both interior and exterior surfaces as needed.
• Carry out sheetrock repairs.
• Submit completed work orders to the direct supervisor.
• Attend required TNDC meetings and training sessions.
• Follow TNDC safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Respond to building emergencies on an after-hours on-call schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One year of residential maintenance or related building experience.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds and climb ladders.
• General understanding and working application of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
• Ability to obtain High-rise Fire Safety Certificate within 6 months.

Nice-to-haves

• Valid California driver's license.
• Knowledge of Cal/OSHA safety requirements.
• Second language ability.
