About the position
The Maintenance Lead/Senior Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining various mechanical and electrical systems in a fast-paced production environment. This role requires a strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on process and packaging equipment. The position emphasizes effective communication with team members and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment within close tolerances.
- Perform routine electrical and mechanical problem-solving on process & packaging equipment.
- Conduct Preventative Maintenance (PM's) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM) on Process & Packaging Equipment with minimal guidance.
- Communicate effectively with Operators, Peers, Supervisors, and all levels of management daily.
- Provide support as needed and complete other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- Understand and adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) Procedures, Confined Space Procedures, and all other Plant Safety/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical Degree/Trade Certification or 4-6 years equivalent work experience required.
- Fundamental understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Schematics and Mechanical Drawings.
- Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC Electrical components using basic test equipment such as multi-meters and amp probes.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support production needs.
Nice-to-haves
- Associate degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology.
- Advanced understanding of AC/AC Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Schematics and Mechanical Drawings.
- Technical/Trade Certification in Welding, Advanced Machinist Skills, fabrication, and blueprint interpretation.
- PLC/Instrumentation troubleshooting skills.
