About the position

As a Maintenance Lead at PPG, you will oversee the predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance of the fire suppression system, ensuring compliance with local codes and PPG standards. This role is based at PPG's Oak Creek, WI plant and reports directly to the Plant Manager. You will be responsible for managing maintenance personnel and contractors, developing training materials, and participating in environmental, health, and safety activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reliability efforts pertaining to fire system.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and contractors performing all maintenance on the fire suppression system.
  • Monitor spend associated with upkeep activities.
  • Prepare work order notification cost estimates, including materials, parts, internal/external labor, and specialty services.
  • Migrate all inspections including frequencies and job tasks into Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maintain all inspection and maintenance records per PPG retention policy.
  • Develop training material and train response team in operations of fire response system.
  • Work together with area Project and Plant Engineering Teams to develop a multiple year capital replacement strategy.
  • Participate in the PPG environmental, health and safety (EHS) activities, completing daily, weekly and monthly safety related tasks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years work experience maintaining and operating large facility fire protection systems.
  • Previous experience adhering to preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ability to retrieve information and navigate through systems using MS Office suite and Maximo (PM Module).
  • Manage contractors and execute work permits.
  • Understand diagrams, P&ID drawings, and basic schematics.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance team, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Openly welcome constructive suggestions to job plans and system design.
