About the position

Boeing Commercial Airlines is seeking a Maintenance Machinist to join our team in the Puget Sound region of Washington State. This role is crucial for the maintenance process of all plant equipment, where the Maintenance Machinist will operate as a general journeyman machinist. The position involves working with various machinery including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and planning complete machine processes to facilitate the manufacturing and repair of all machined parts. In this role, the Maintenance Machinist will support the equipment maintenance team by evaluating, planning, and designing machine parts. A strong understanding of mathematics, including practical math, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, is essential for this position. The machinist will also engage in reverse engineering of replacement equipment parts, ensuring that all tasks are completed with precision and accuracy. The ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering illustrations, work instructions, and machine drawings is critical. The machinist will utilize measuring equipment to maintain tolerances as tight as (.0002) two ten-thousandths on machined and ground parts. Additionally, the role requires operating overhead cranes and performing rigging to safely move parts into position for machining or installation. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations, and this position is expected to be 100% onsite. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. The role is governed by the International Association of Machinist (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement, and candidates must be prepared to work any shift as needed.
