About the position

The Electrical Maintenance Technician at Mid-City Foundry is responsible for delivering safe and timely electrical support, conducting preventative maintenance, and overseeing the installation, servicing, repairing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across various operational machinery within a manufacturing industrial setting. This role is crucial for ensuring operational efficiency and is part of a succession plan for the maintenance department, emphasizing knowledge transfer and smooth transitions of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and timely electrical support.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Oversee installation, servicing, and repair of operational machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across various equipment.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operation of the Maintenance Department.
  • Lead a team and provide hands-on support in maintenance tasks.
  • Evaluate circumstances and provide input on work scope and expectations.
  • Become a subject expert on all on-site facilities systems and equipment.
  • Lead operation processes, installation, and troubleshooting of PLC ladder logic and HMIs.
  • Collaborate with vendors to manage project scope, expectations, and budget.
  • Author facilities and maintenance policies and processes.
  • Adhere to safety practices and OSHA guidelines in collaboration with management and EHS coordinator.

Requirements

  • Mechanical and electrical expertise.
  • Sound understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Demonstrated basic troubleshooting and machine repair capacity.
  • 2-3 years of experience in troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems.
  • Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, and 3 phase power.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with power transmission equipment and bearings.
  • Basic welding skills (not required but preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Military training or Technical School background.
  • Familiarity with computers and Microsoft software.
