About the position
The Maintenance Manager for the Fuel Farm Facility at Menzies Aviation is a critical role based at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This position requires 24/7 availability to respond to urgent airport operational needs, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The Maintenance Manager will oversee and direct facility maintenance personnel, ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner. This includes leading safety committee meetings and conducting daily safety briefs to promote a culture of safety within the team. In this role, the Maintenance Manager will assist with or issue daily orders for operations and maintenance, ensuring that all inspections—daily, weekly, monthly, and annual—are completed within specified time constraints. The position requires close collaboration with the local Operations Supervisor, Assistant Manager, and General Manager to research problems and communicate necessary information effectively. The Maintenance Manager will also manage a software database to ensure that work orders and tasks are completed and closed promptly, utilizing Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting purposes. A strong knowledge of the operations of pumps, valves, fittings, wiring, conduit, and tank gauging equipment is essential. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for responding to and directing emergency and spill response activities, representing the company positively while modeling ethical business behavior and integrity. Additionally, the role involves reviewing records and reports to ascertain data required for planning department operations and coordinating equipment service with operations and scheduling. Adherence to safety policies is paramount, and the Maintenance Manager will report all accidents and injuries while investigating ways to prevent reoccurrence. This position also requires the ability to meet the company's attendance and code of conduct standards, along with performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Respond to critical airport operational needs 24/7.
- Manage, direct, assign, and support facility maintenance personnel.
- Lead safety committee meetings and conduct daily safety briefs.
- Assist with or issue daily orders for operations and maintenance.
- Ensure all inspections are completed within time constraints.
- Collaborate with Operations Supervisor, Assistant Manager, and General Manager to address issues.
- Manage software database for work orders and tasks.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation or related field.
- 2 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and schematics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills for calculations and reporting.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions.
- Valid driver's license and FAA Airport required identification.
- Prior aircraft fueling experience required.
- Supervisory or lead experience in the aviation industry preferred.
- Ability to lift 70lbs repetitively and work in all weather conditions.
