About the position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the Fleet Maintenance Department, ensuring the upkeep of all assets, managing maintenance budgets, and supervising a team of mechanics. This role involves executing maintenance programs, training employees, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while also managing external service requests and emergency repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Fleet Maintenance Department.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets and resources.
  • Supervise multiple mechanics and oversee their work.
  • Maintain parts inventory and manage purchase orders and invoice approvals.
  • Coach and train employees on repairing and maintaining company assets.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and standards.
  • Drive compliance with DOT safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate the status of repairs with internal departments and leaders.
  • Manage the dispatch of emergency roadside repairs.
  • Facilitate the transfer of fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Requisition work from outside services or vendors for specialized projects.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five to seven years of related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • CDL license
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish at an intermediate level.
