About the position

We are looking for a thorough hands-on Maintenance Manager to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises at our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing inspection reports and will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC preventive maintenance. The Maintenance Manager will ensure that the buildings and common areas are maintained in the best possible condition while adhering to all health and safety guidelines. This position requires a practical mind with attention to detail, as the candidate will need to work autonomously and responsibly. In this role, you will manage one maintenance technician and will not be overseeing laundry or housekeeping. It is essential that the candidate has prior experience in a healthcare facility, as this role demands a thorough understanding of the specific maintenance needs associated with such environments. The goal is to ensure that all mechanical systems are functioning properly and that the facility meets health and safety standards. You will be expected to perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks, as well as assist in budget preparation and adherence.

Responsibilities

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems including replacing light bulbs and sockets, and cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels.
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed.
• Perform manual repairs when necessary, such as fixing locks and replacing windows.
• Undertake activities of pest control, including spraying insecticide.
• Conduct general upkeep procedures such as landscaping and other tasks as assigned, including painting and carpentry.
• Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician.
• Experience with preventative maintenance for HVAC systems.
• Experience/certification with plumbing.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
