About the position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and replacement of plant equipment and systems to ensure optimal production and quality. This role involves managing maintenance activities, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards, and supporting the company's policies and objectives. The Maintenance Manager will also handle the organization and inventory of the plant storeroom, ensuring effective operations and cost management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct maintenance activities to ensure effective operations and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate problem resolution related to equipment failures or operational issues.
  • Maintain compliance with procedures to uphold high operational standards and product quality.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance records and analyze results for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the implementation of CMMS software within the maintenance department.
  • Initiate and manage maintenance-related projects.
  • Effectively manage maintenance expenses and communicate with personnel across shifts.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews to assess competency and development needs.
  • Formulate and recommend maintenance policies and programs to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
  • Manage staffing and training within the maintenance department.
  • Ensure facility compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations.
  • Consult with relevant departments on safety and environmental matters.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers while achieving production and quality standards.
  • Enforce safety, health, environmental, and food/feed safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a related technical field or a certificate/diploma from a trade school is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
