About the position

The Maintenance Manager at Sonesta ES Suites Fairfax is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring that all maintenance activities are performed efficiently and effectively. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and performance of all equipment and facilities, particularly in a setting with self-contained units that include kitchens. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and hands-on experience with HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, and appliance repair.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage one direct report, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and implement maintenance management strategies to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Oversee the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders, preventative maintenance, mechanical, fire & life safety inspections and county permitting.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Manage high voltage and low voltage electrical systems, performing troubleshooting as necessary.
• Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and diagnostics.
• Coordinate project management activities related to facility upgrades or repairs, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Foster a culture of safety within the team by conducting training sessions on best practices and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience in maintenance management or a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in facilities management.
• Excellent teamwork and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Solid project management skills, capable of overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of high voltage systems is essential; low voltage experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a logical approach to troubleshooting issues.
