About the position

The Maintenance Manager plays a crucial role in leading and directing the plant maintenance function of a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation. This position is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with the company's policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws. The Maintenance Manager may directly supervise employees or oversee maintenance operations through other supervisors, ensuring that the team operates efficiently and effectively. In collaboration with the plant engineer, the Maintenance Manager will utilize equipment to enhance employee safety, improve production quality, and ensure equipment reliability. This role involves managing both maintenance and capital projects for the site, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget. The Maintenance Manager will leverage their mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds, ensuring that all facilities are in optimal working condition. Utilizing a computerized maintenance management system, the Maintenance Manager will optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance. This includes implementing corrective actions identified by key maintenance performance indicators to enhance overall equipment effectiveness. The role also involves managing employees directly or through supervisors, focusing on effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action, and performance management of the maintenance team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the plant engineer to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Manage both maintenance and capital projects for the site.
  • Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
  • Optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Implement corrective actions identified by key maintenance performance indicators to enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Provide management of employees directly or through supervisors to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action, and performance management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Associate's Degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience within a plant maintenance function and 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
  • Ability to follow Continuous Improvement (CI) Processes in the Management Operating Structure (MOS).
