About the position

The Maintenance Manager at Gerber Products Company is responsible for establishing and implementing maintenance foundations and methodologies in line with Nestlé's Continuous Excellence strategy. This role involves managing a team of maintenance personnel, ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. The position requires strong analytical skills to monitor maintenance metrics, develop corrective action plans, and oversee the maintenance budget while fostering a culture of safety and quality within the factory.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement Maintenance Foundations and TPM methodologies.
  • Manage a team of salaried supervisors, planners, and maintenance mechanics.
  • Monitor and analyze maintenance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and drive corrective action plans for production lines not meeting performance expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Oversee the maintenance budget and manage resources efficiently.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce equipment failures.
  • Support the development and execution of maintenance plans and schedules for production equipment.
  • Coordinate the use of Corporate, Plant, and External Engineering resources to align with factory priorities.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technologies.
  • Monitor, coach, and improve the Maintenance & Improvement strategy and objectives of the factory.
  • Support coaching activities to enhance the execution of NCE methodologies and drive a Safety & Quality mindset.
  • Build, develop, and coach Maintenance leaders to drive results.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring proper training and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Food or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry is preferred.
  • Experience in Maintenance Management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • CMMS/SAP experience is preferred.
  • TPM experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a USDA, FDA, or equivalent regulatory compliance manufacturing environment is preferred.
