About the position

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical components of machinery. This role involves collaborating with engineering and operations teams to ensure efficient machine performance and minimize unexpected breakdowns. The position requires a hands-on approach to maintenance tasks, including minor electrical repairs and the use of various tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, gear boxes, and conveyor belts.
• Repair/troubleshoot hydraulic cylinders, flow problems, solenoids, and pumps.
• Collaborate with Engineering and other technicians to order and install replacement parts for machines.
• Work with Operations to identify causes of unexpected breakdowns and maintain equipment efficiency.
• Make minor wiring repairs and troubleshoot basic electrical issues.
• Repair, install, and dismantle machinery and equipment according to plans, including working at heights and using mobile equipment.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams for installation and repair of equipment and facilities.
• Maintain a safe work area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Some vocational or community college with related coursework, preferred.
• 3+ years' experience working in Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance, or a relevant field.
• Previous experience using bearing, heaters, interference fits, and/or removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic to Intermediate Electrical skills are a plus.
• Welding/fabrication skills are a plus.
• Basic knowledge of PLC and HMI functions is a plus.
• Computer skills are a plus.
