About the position

The Maintenance Mechanic - Blow Mold and Injection Molding position at Amcor Rigid Packaging involves performing general maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance on various injection, auxiliary, and plant support equipment. The role requires applying mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge to troubleshoot, perform maintenance, and complete necessary repairs, with the goal of minimizing downtime and optimizing product quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance on injection and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to identify symbols and control circuits.
• Install and maintain PLCs, motors, relays, and control circuits.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor 'No Injuries Safety Contract'.
• Communicate hazards and safety issues to co-workers and supervisors.
• Perform other related duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or completion of a vo-tech program preferred.
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds and perform heavy physical tasks.
• Proficient in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with refrigeration, drying, conveying, and fluid pumps.
• Familiarity with welding and fabrication techniques.
