The Maintenance Mechanic (BoilerRm) is responsible for maintaining, operating, and repairing various building and utilities equipment, including high-pressure boilers, refrigeration equipment, emergency generators, transfer switches, HVAC systems, building management systems, and medical gas systems. This role requires a thorough inspection of all equipment and the ability to perform necessary repairs to ensure optimal functionality and safety. The position involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall maintenance of the facility, ensuring that all systems are running efficiently and effectively. In this role, the Maintenance Mechanic will regularly check building conditions and perform maintenance tasks such as plumbing, minor electrical work, carpentry, and painting as needed. Monthly preventative maintenance will be conducted on equipment such as air handlers, exhaust fans, pumps, and cooling towers. The mechanic will also be responsible for repairing leaks, replacing defective piping and plumbing fixtures, and maintaining other plumbing systems, with all necessary materials supplied by the Senior Master Mechanic. Additionally, the Maintenance Mechanic will maintain proper water treatment for HVAC systems and boiler chemistry, install and repair hardware like door closures and locks, and perform repairs on partitions, ceilings, and flooring. The role also includes changing and cleaning filters for ventilation systems, operating fire alarm equipment, and performing soldering and brazing operations. The mechanic will follow simple circuit diagrams to maintain and repair electrical circuits and associated HVAC piping, ensuring all systems are in compliance with safety standards. This position may also involve other duties as assigned by the Utilities Manager, Utilities Supervisor, Senior Master Mechanic, or Senior Mechanic.
