About the position
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment in support of the Melrose cheese manufacturing facility. This role involves working with various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment in the facility.
- Work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and controls.
- Perform regular maintenance on machinery to ensure it remains in production.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.
- Complete preventive maintenance requirements following diagrams and manufacturer's instructions.
- Ensure the safety of oneself and co-workers at all times.
Requirements
- 1 year of prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with dairy experience.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Strong logical-thinking and troubleshooting skills.
