About the position
The Maintenance Mechanic Technician is responsible for performing general equipment repairs and ensuring the safe operation of plant machinery. This role involves making alterations, installations, and repairs on various types of machinery and auxiliary equipment, while adhering to safety protocols and compliance standards. The technician must be dependable, able to lift heavy objects, and willing to work overtime as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Performs general equipment repair.
- Uses a variety of materials to make alterations, installations, and repairs on all types of plant machinery and auxiliary equipment.
- Ensures all guards and safety devices are in place after job completion.
- Reads prints and schematics for repair and installation tasks.
- Lifts heavy objects as required for repairs and installations.
- Obtains a forklift license and operates forklifts as needed.
- May perform electrical troubleshooting, repair, or installation.
- Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must be dependable with a good attendance record.
- Must be willing to be on call and work overtime as necessary.
- Must have at least four years of mechanical experience using the skills described in the job summary.
- Must be able to lift heavy material and handle physical effort.
- Responsible for the safety of others in the performance of job duties.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
