About the position

The Maintenance Mechanic position at Aerotek involves troubleshooting and resolving electrical and control system problems in a heavy industrial environment. The role requires effective use of electronic test equipment, maintenance of schematics, and coordination of repairs with other technicians. The focus is on ensuring equipment functionality and safety while documenting all maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret equipment symptoms during troubleshooting and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Use effective troubleshooting techniques to determine the cause of electrical and control system problems.
  • Test and repair electronic/electrical equipment, circuits, and components efficiently.
  • Perform calibrations and adjustments according to approved standard procedures.
  • Conduct functional testing of repaired boards and parts.
  • Tag and inventory boards and parts to indicate repair and test status.
  • Organize work spare parts and supplies.
  • Document repairs, service, calibrations, etc.
  • Maintain log books documenting maintenance and repair history on individual pieces of equipment.
  • Use and maintain standard electronic test equipment such as digital multi-meters, VOMs, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Maintain furnace equipment and coordinate repairs with other Electronic Technicians as required.
  • Maintain electrical/electronic schematics and document changes.
  • Effectively handle multiple assignments and changing priorities.
  • Organize time around furnace schedules to make needed repairs and test repaired components on line.
  • Assist in the coordination of electronic components that require off-site repair.

Requirements

  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical and control systems.
  • Proficiency in using electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to document maintenance and repair history accurately.
  • Experience in maintaining electrical/electronic schematics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with furnace equipment maintenance.
