About the position

The Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work across various systems in the College's facilities. This includes plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general construction tasks, as well as preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety and functionality of the facilities. The role also involves addressing potential safety hazards and performing snow removal as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work including plumbing, electrical, flooring, and carpentry.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on various building systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Address safety hazards and implement preventative measures to reduce future risks.
• Operate and maintain equipment related to building maintenance and operations.
• Perform snow removal and other outdoor maintenance tasks as required.
• Communicate effectively with Facilities Management staff to coordinate maintenance efforts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in general maintenance and operation of commercial buildings and systems.
• Knowledge of KACE facilities management system or similar CMMS.
• Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Valid Oklahoma Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year experience with building automation and energy management programs.
• Successful completion of a technical trade program in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or construction.
