About the position

The Maintenance Mechanic at the Children's Nutritional Research Center (CNRC) is responsible for performing repairs and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. This role primarily involves working night shifts and requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of various systems within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains chilled water and steam systems, excluding generation.
  • Maintains potable water distribution and associated equipment.
  • Handles deionized water generation.
  • Monitors emergency power systems.
  • Monitors the building automated system (BAS) and all other facility support systems.
  • Responds to and resolves BAS alarms.
  • Troubleshoots and provides preventive maintenance of BAS and control equipment.
  • Assists with preventative maintenance and repair programs.
  • Provides assistance with life safety or security situations as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of Trade School or Associate's Degree program.
  • Additional specialized training.
  • One year of maintenance mechanic experience preferably in a medical, research or higher education facility.
