About the position
The Maintenance Multi-Craft position at Hydro involves assisting with the installation, start-up, and maintenance of plant electrical equipment and controls, with a focus on troubleshooting PLC-based systems. The role requires collaboration with various departments to enhance equipment operation and reliability, while also providing documentation and support for day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, start-up, and maintenance of plant/facility electrical equipment and controls, focusing on troubleshooting PLC-based systems.
- Modify PLC and HMI/operator interface configurations and implement minor changes to eliminate problems.
- Assist operating and maintenance departments in selecting and standardizing equipment and software to improve reliability.
- Provide written documentation of changes to control systems and notify maintenance employees of updates.
- Communicate with IT and plant engineering departments to resolve complex problems.
- Contact equipment suppliers for technical support as needed.
- Support day-to-day operations.
Requirements
- Associate degree in electrical/electronic technology field preferred or equivalent of seven years' experience.
- Minimum five years of hands-on work experience with control systems and mechanical systems.
- Minimum five years of PLC experience, with the ability to modify A-B Ladder logic.
- Experience with Allen Bradley, Control Logix, and Panelview is a plus.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical devices, and combustion system controls is a plus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills required.
- Minimum five years of motor control and drive experience.
- Knowledge of Windows operating system and PC/software configurations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Allen Bradley, Control Logix, and Panelview.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical devices, and combustion system controls.
