About the position

At Wegmans, our Maintenance team plays a crucial role in ensuring that our stores, facilities, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. As a Maintenance Operations Center Specialist, you will be empowered to tackle complex problems on a daily basis while continuously learning and developing new skills. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service and operational support to various departments, including Stores, Facilities, Manufacturing, and Maintenance. You will achieve this by triaging, prioritizing, and dispatching maintenance repair requests to both in-house resources and contractors. In this role, effective communication is key. You will maintain consistent contact with internal customers and stakeholders to plan the execution of work orders, coordinate training sessions, and gather feedback to enhance our systems, processes, and service levels. You will utilize your knowledge of maintenance and equipment Life-Cycle Management practices to ensure that requests are handled efficiently and cost-effectively. As the point of contact for maintenance-related issues, you will collaborate with multiple areas to ensure that customer service remains exceptional and that follow-ups are conducted promptly. Additionally, you will work closely with operations and contractors to resolve service requests and address any contractor repair action issues. Your ability to evaluate, prioritize, and assign maintenance repair tasks will be essential. You will also assist in developing and maintaining Service Level Agreements for new and existing stores, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety program information. By maintaining accurate information in our systems and utilizing programmable logic controllers for alarm monitoring, you will contribute to effective repair resolutions. Monitoring equipment total cost of ownership and collaborating with leadership for capital planning and equipment replacement will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize knowledge of maintenance and equipment Life-Cycle Management practices to triage and prioritize requests and dispatch work to in-house resources or contractors in a cost-effective manner
  • Be point of contact for maintenance related issues, maintain effective communication with all stakeholders and collaborate with multiple areas to ensure incredible customer service and follow up
  • Work with operations and contractors to resolve service requests and contractor repair action issues; evaluate, prioritize, and assign priority of maintenance repair
  • Partner with divisional and operations teams to coordinate and provide training on systems and processes, while utilizing feedback to find ways to continuously improve
  • Assist with developing and maintaining Service Level Agreements for new and existing stores and help maintain regulatory/compliance and safety program information
  • Maintain updated and accurate information in systems and use programmable logic controllers alarm monitoring tools to assist with repair resolution
  • Monitor equipment total cost of ownership repair costs and collaborate with leadership as needed to help with Capital Planning and replacement of equipment

Requirements

  • 1 or more years of experience in the Maintenance field
  • Experience coordinating business activities, such as scheduling, costing, vendor relations, etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement, integrity and trust in frequently handling confidential information
  • Systems aptitude, and the ability to work between multiple systems and simultaneously navigate multiple screens and applications

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Purchasing, Inventory Management, and/or Accounting
  • Experience supporting a maintenance department
  • Experience using EAM computer system
  • Experience in the mechanical field in a position which required understanding of mechanical parts related to food production equipment, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC and/or plumbing
