About the position

The Pottstown Elks Lodge #814 is seeking a reliable and skilled maintenance worker to perform essential upkeep tasks throughout the facility. This part-time position involves a variety of activities including repairs, cleaning, and maintenance to ensure the facilities are tidy and functional. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess significant work experience along with solid technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls, hanging items, and tightening hinges.
• Install necessary appliances and equipment, typically kitchen items like hot plates and warming lamps.
• Maintain grounds, including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trash, and weed whacking.
• Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, and light dusting.
• Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and clearing drains.
• Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems, determining if items can be fixed or if outside service needs to be called.
• Provide room set-up and breakdown for catered events, including setting up tables and chairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a maintenance worker or in a similar position.
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• General passion for creative problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of maintenance experience (preferred)
