About the position

The Maintenance Parts/Inventory Clerk at Pacific Coast Companies, Inc. is responsible for managing the ordering and inventory of parts and materials necessary for machine maintenance and plant operations. This role supports the maintenance team by ensuring that all necessary components are available and properly stored, while adhering to the company's core values of integrity, safety, respect, customer focus, quality, innovation, and financial success.

Responsibilities

  • Locate and provide parts and components to maintenance or production personnel.
  • Perform receiving duties, including verification of items received and proper storage.
  • Order parts as required and track the status of back-order items.
  • Maintain updated parts and components ordering catalogs and operate the inventory tracking system.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in storage areas.
  • Issue supplies, parts, and equipment to maintenance or production personnel as needed.
  • Ensure that inventory on-hand balances are maintained.
  • Prepare and file documentation associated with assigned duties, such as purchase orders and work orders.
  • Retrieve and deliver parts or vendor supplies when items are out of stock.
  • Perform routine inventories of parts and supplies according to established schedules.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and personnel.
  • Attend safety meetings and abide by safety rules.

Requirements

  • 2 - 3 years' experience in inventory control, purchasing clerk, or similar experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other required equipment.
  • Valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
