The Maintenance Person at YMCA of New Rochelle is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on residential properties. This part-time role requires a skilled individual with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, who can provide exceptional customer service while ensuring the properties are well-maintained and safe for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting and repainting, to ensure the property's interior and exterior remain in good condition.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify and address any maintenance issues or potential hazards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Use electrical testing tools, such as an ohmmeter, to diagnose and fix electrical problems.
  • Interpret electrical schematics to ensure proper installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Utilize logic controllers to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests, being courteous, and communicating effectively.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong background in facilities maintenance, preferably with experience in residential properties.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems, including the ability to read schematics and operate electrical testing tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques and materials.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; mechanical knowledge or certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
