About the position

The Maintenance Piping Planner at CF Industries is responsible for providing technical and maintenance planning support to the maintenance piping department. This role involves planning daily maintenance and long-term project work efficiently, utilizing the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to prepare job packages and order necessary parts. The planner ensures design safety by adhering to company standards and government codes while collaborating with various departments to facilitate maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan daily maintenance and long-term project work for the maintenance piping department.
  • Utilize the CMMS to prepare job packages and order parts for maintenance tasks.
  • Analyze technical problems and conduct field checks to specify applicable equipment.
  • Develop cost and scheduling estimates for maintenance projects.
  • Ensure timely completion of work orders requested by customers.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Engineering, and suppliers to order non-stock parts and materials.
  • Maintain equipment records, including Bills of Material and specification sheets, within the CMMS.
  • Update and maintain a Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, monitoring completion efficiency and backlog.
  • Participate in planning detailed shutdown and turnaround work.
  • Develop comprehensive plans for work orders, including labor estimates and parts listings.
  • Specify and reserve necessary stock materials and tools for job completion.
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor and Technicians during job execution as needed.
  • Troubleshoot plant equipment in collaboration with maintenance technicians and plant operations.
  • Monitor equipment history for frequent failures and excessive repair costs.
  • Communicate Management of Change (MOC) in maintenance procedures to relevant departments.
  • Support EHS activities and compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through teamwork and quality planning.

Requirements

  • Two years of college or an AA degree, or 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial chemical setting.
  • Previous planning or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Solid communication skills for effective interaction with peers and supervisors.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment and EHS policies/procedures.
  • Proficiency in PC software applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and adaptability to CMMS and planning tools like Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Results-oriented with strong initiative and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to climb towers, enter confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and support activities simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to create and present presentations using PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role within maintenance planning.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and project management software.
