About the position

The Maintenance Planner & Procurement Specialist at Tesla's Lithium Refinery will play a crucial role in the commissioning and maintenance planning of the facility. This position involves close collaboration with engineering and operations teams to develop and implement detailed plans that align with construction schedules and operational needs. The specialist will also lead procurement efforts to ensure the maintenance team has the necessary resources to operate efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed work packages for efficient field execution, including cost and resource estimates, material procurement, and QA/QC requirements.
• Create detailed commissioning schedules that align with project milestones and identify potential resource constraints.
• Serve as the Procurement Lead for the Maintenance & Reliability Team, ensuring access to necessary tools and materials.
• Develop justifications for procurement and manage the approval process for purchase orders.
• Coordinate commissioning activities across organizational boundaries, including vendor support and resource balancing.
• Assist in developing preventative maintenance procedures and strategies for efficient life-cycle management of plant assets post-startup.
• Generate comprehensive weekly/monthly maintenance schedules for assigned unit areas.

Requirements

• 5+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment, supporting maintenance organizations in developing and executing detailed job plans.
• Strong understanding of equipment maintenance fundamentals and ability to solve technical problems.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Navisworks, and Hexagon is a plus.
• Ability to communicate clearly with multiple engineering disciplines and vendors.
• Basic understanding of energy isolation, LOTO, and unit operations.

• Experience with solids handling, rotary calcination, and hydro-metallurgical equipment.
