About the position

Clean Harbors in Kimball, NE is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Planner - Turnaround to join our team. This role is crucial for developing detailed turnaround plans that ensure the smooth operation of our new incineration unit. The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for coordinating responses to all breakdown events, working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and other staff to ensure that we are prepared and capable of minimizing maintenance delays while maximizing asset availability. Safety is our top priority, and we are looking for individuals who share this commitment. The position requires working Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the expectation of longer hours (12-13 hours a day) during turnaround periods, including weekends. The annual salary for this position is $86,000.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed turnaround plans, including scope of work, schedules, resource allocation, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and other functional staff to ensure readiness and resource availability.
  • Plan a timetable of events and decide when and where certain events will occur.
  • Define and document the scope of work for turnaround activities, including inspections, repairs, and modifications.
  • Identify resource requirements including labor, parts, material, and equipment and ensure availability for scheduled turnarounds.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to secure necessary services, required training documentation and supplies.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and schedule adherence.
  • Assess turnaround performance and identify areas for improvement in planning, execution, and closeout processes.
  • Maintain and document schedules, work packages, change orders, and critical repairs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in maintenance planning or a similar role within an industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance processes and turnaround planning.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
