About The Position

The Maintenance Porter at SP Plus Corporation is responsible for performing facility maintenance duties and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role involves a variety of tasks including cleaning, maintenance, and customer service, with a focus on maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers and staff. The position requires the ability to work independently and perform tasks with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Basic knowledge of facility maintenance, electrical work, and painting is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds or more regularly.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in facility maintenance or related fields is a plus.
• Basic electrical and painting skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as directed by the facility manager/supervisor.
• Ensure all areas of the facility are clean and free of debris using appropriate tools.
• Walk the garage daily to identify and address maintenance issues.
• Sweep and clean entrances, exits, and stairwells.
• Empty trashcans in various areas of the facility.
• Paint surfaces as directed to maintain a neat appearance.
• Replace burned-out bulbs and apply oil absorbent to spills.
• Check safety items and ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and keep records of maintenance tasks.
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools as needed.
• Report any safety hazards or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
• Assist customers and resolve complaints as necessary.
