About the position
Talen Energy is soliciting candidates interested in applying for an Instrument and Control Coordinator position in the Instrument & Control Maintenance Department at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station located near Berwick, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities
- Lay out and implement strategies to complete work assignments per the scheduled times.
- Enforce departmental and organizational goals and expectations.
- Provide feedback to Planning and Work Management Departments when we see a better or more cost-effective way of performing certain jobs.
- Motivate the crew while performing tasks, keeping an open mind and good attitude towards the position.
- Maintain necessary qualifications and expertise to be able to respond and lead in plant response to abnormal conditions within the Nuclear Emergency Response Organization.
- Validate job readiness for scheduled work. Coordinate with Operations Department and others to reschedule work when needed.
- Monitor and manage the qualifications and training of direct reports.
- Serve as the training coordinator working closely with our training partners to ensure training and qualifications are met and have a short-term training plan along with a long-term training plan.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Working knowledge of power plant maintenance, design, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Must be able to coordinate information from various sources and interface with multiple work groups to complete tasks.
- Should have good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and correct coworkers; can perform duties with little to no supervision.
- Must be able to provide maintenance supervision coverage outside of normal working hours when in an on-call/duty status.
- Must be able to qualify and fulfill Emergency Response Organization duties and responsibilities to include meeting a 1-hour response time while in an on-call/duty status.
Nice-to-haves
- Should have a good knowledge of the systems within a power plant.
- Should have good technical ability on almost all plant equipment which could break down.
- Task certified on equipment being reworked; Energy Control Process certified.
- Prior experience with Primavera P6 and Syntempo.
