About the position

We are seeking a proactive Project Coordinator to join our maintenance team at our facility located in Chicago, IL, 60609. As a Project Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful and efficient operation of our new 2nd shift. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The position requires extensive experience in mechanical, electrical, and automation fundamentals in an industrial environment or field service role to be successful. You will provide back-up technical support for the maintenance manager and production, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. Note that depending on the task being performed, wearing personal protective equipment is mandatory. In this role, you will analyze and resolve production and facility challenges, assisting employees in solving production problems. You will assist with organizing, coordinating, and implementing various sections of maintenance and engineering projects, both large and small. Evaluating production processes for potential improvements in efficiency, ergonomics, and safety will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will schedule activities to observe priority of interest and effectively communicate with production management to determine when production-related items should be addressed. Training staff and providing feedback to the supervisor will also be part of your duties, along with reviewing and evaluating results of tests. Additionally, you will assist with maintaining computerized maintenance management work orders and assign tasks as needed. Maintaining crib inventory and preparing reports on progress while recommending the addition, expansion, or discontinuance of projects will be essential. This position may also include other duties as assigned, including line/machinery set-up, making it a dynamic and engaging role within our maintenance team.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A combination of over four years of directly related training and/or experience is typically required for carrying out the responsibilities for this job.
  • High School Diploma or Trade School Certificate with a minimum of six months of related mechanical/electrical experience preferred.
  • Must be familiar with the general industrial equipment.
  • Ability to make quick, accurate repairs to machinery and/or work with an outside contractor as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings, schemes, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak English.
  • Ability to understand trigonometry and geometry as necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
