About the position

The Maintenance/Reliability Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting multiple chemical and milling plants in Eastern North Carolina. This position involves technical responsibility for maintenance and reliability engineering, focusing on improving equipment efficiency and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role requires a blend of engineering expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Review equipment, functions, and methodologies in the Chemical Maintenance Department for potential improvements and upgrades in technology.
  • Plan, approve, and manage projects that address increasing efficiency while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Function as a technical advisor to Operations and Maintenance teams.
  • Perform project oversight activities in the chemical plants.
  • Prepare engineering reports in response to requests from other departments, including project scope, technical evaluations, specifications, and safety assessments.
  • Manage capital projects, including design, specifications, purchase requisitions, bid analysis, and cost control.
  • Direct emergency maintenance jobs as assigned.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions for approved capital projects and select contractors and materials.
  • Prepare project design specifications and drawings using engineering principles and standards.
  • Plan, schedule, supervise, and correct deficiencies for design and construction activities related to approved projects.
  • Solve field construction problems, coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, and contractors to ensure resource availability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 5+ years of industrial plant maintenance and/or reliability engineering experience in chemical, mineral, mining, or related industries.
  • 3+ years of experience in Vibration Analysis and Lubrication programs.
  • PE-Professional Engineer technical certification is preferred.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to work in the USA without sponsorship.

  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in the chemical industry.

Benefits

  • Excellent salary range of $100,000 - $130,000 per year.
