About the position

The Maintenance Reliability Supervisor at Newell Brands is a pivotal role responsible for enhancing asset reliability and implementing improvements to the reliability-centered maintenance process. This position is based in Winchester, Virginia, and requires a proactive leader who can drive equipment reliability while managing a team of reliability technicians. The supervisor will engage in daily operations with the reliability group, focusing on identifying asset reliability issues, managing preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and documenting asset quality trends to foster continuous improvement. In this role, the supervisor will lead and train a team of reliability technicians, ensuring they are well-versed in best practices for preventative maintenance. This includes developing their technical knowledge and improving the reliability of tasks and equipment uptime. The supervisor will also provide subject matter expertise in various predictive maintenance technologies, including vibration analysis, ultrasound analysis, oil sampling, and thermography. Collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams is essential, as the supervisor will assist in projects aimed at enhancing new equipment reliability standards and improving maintainability efficiency. The Maintenance Reliability Supervisor will report directly to the Maintenance Manager, focusing on measuring key reliability performance metrics and executing improvement projects. This role requires effective communication of improvement efforts to plant management and engineering resources, along with thorough documentation of results and benefits achieved. The supervisor will also share maintenance best practices across different plants and divisions, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement of asset reliability and manufacturing KPIs at the Winchester site.
  • Identify asset reliability issues and manage daily preventative/predictive programs.
  • Document and trend asset quality and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead and train a team of reliability technicians on preventative maintenance best practices.
  • Develop technician technical knowledge and improve reliability tasks and equipment uptimes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on preventative maintenance standards and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance groups on projects to improve new equipment reliability standards.
  • Drive cost savings through value-added reliability maintenance practices.
  • Report to the Maintenance Manager on key reliability performance metrics and improvement projects.
  • Communicate the status of improvement efforts to plant management and engineering resources.
  • Document results and benefits achieved from improvement efforts.
  • Share maintenance best practice methods across plants and divisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Background in industrial maintenance reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Working understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Working understanding of injection molding machines and processing.
  • Knowledge of six sigma tools and methodology, strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills to lead and support employees in a team environment.
  • Good presentation skills to share successes and ideas effectively.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • High energy, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and well-organized.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
