About the position

The Maintenance Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance and engineering support functions at a power plant in Houston, TX. This role involves managing plant improvement projects, overseeing vendors and contractors, and serving as an expert in the plant's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The coordinator also supervises maintenance personnel in the absence of the Maintenance Manager, provides technical support for plant enhancements, and collaborates with engineering teams. Additionally, the position includes managing RFQs/RFPs, SSJ documents, work requests, and assisting with purchasing and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate maintenance and engineering support functions in the plant.
  • Manage plant improvement projects and oversee vendors and contractors.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Provide technical support for plant and process enhancements.
  • Create and maintain RFQs/RFPs and manage SSJ documents.
  • Write work requests and manage contractual services.
  • Assist with plant purchasing program upkeep and inventory management.
  • Conduct performance, functional, and surveillance tests on plant systems and components.
  • Develop preventative and scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Plan outages for mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Evaluate equipment failures and assist in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Track facility service hours and update Major Maintenance Inspection schedules.
  • Assist in developing annual maintenance budgets.
  • Proficiently use the CMMS to schedule work and maintain inventory.
  • Provide coaching and training for the maintenance team.
  • Investigate plant problems and provide analyses and recommendations.
  • Conduct inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, turbines, and generators.
  • Provide technical support in preparing specifications and evaluating bid proposals.
  • Manage request for proposals and evaluate bids.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of power plant or similar experience required.
  • At least 5 years' experience supervising technical, supervisory, and administrative personnel required.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills required.
  • Strong time management and organization skills for meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with Maximo and PeopleSoft (Advanced User level preferred or ability to learn).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
