About the position

The position involves performing various maintenance and operational tasks related to water distribution systems, including hydrant maintenance, valve operation, leak detection, and meter management. The role is essential for ensuring the reliability and safety of water services provided to customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrant maintenance and flushing
• Operate valves for emergency main breaks
• Conduct locates for utility lines
• Repair services and setters
• Perform maintenance at water treatment plants and distribution booster stations
• Stock van/truck with required materials for daily work
• Maintain a clean work environment and ensure the right tools are available
• GPS all distribution assets
• Utilize company computer applications for data management
• Manage the AMR Program and LOS
• Read, install, and change out meters
• Investigate meter reading inaccuracies and customer complaints
• Shut off water for non-payment and reconnect when paid
• Collect bacteriological samples
• Maintain reliable and accurate data

Requirements

• High school diploma or state recognized Educational Equivalency Certificate
• Must be licensed to operate motor vehicles
• Required to obtain DSL Certification
