About the position

The Maintenance & Skilled Trades Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for managing operational and facilities maintenance services through a skilled team of craftsmen. This position requires effective decision-making to ensure proper facility and equipment operation while adhering to customer contract specifications and company goals. The supervisor will also handle union agreements, lead work crews, conduct briefings, and advocate for safety improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational and facilities maintenance services through a skilled team of craftsmen.
• Ensure work assignments are completed according to customer contract specifications and company goals.
• Administer and apply union agreements for assigned direct reports.
• Develop collaborative relationships with union leadership to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead work crews in navigating company processes and problem resolutions.
• Conduct briefings on work directives, performance, schedules, safety, and costs.
• Investigate and implement action plans to address deficiencies in performance and safety.
• Represent the company with vendors and contractors for technical requirements.
• Drive operational safety improvements and conduct incident investigations.
• Manage work schedules, training, and discipline of assigned work crews.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain unescorted access to the facility through the Department of Army Police vetting process.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a government issued Secret security clearance.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; Journeyman and/or Associate degree preferred.
• Experience and working knowledge of technical or skilled trades work.
• 2-5 years experience in a supervisory role preferred; extensive experience with company products may be considered in lieu.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated and able to work flexible hours for shift coverage.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools is strongly desired.
• Experience leading a unionized workforce is preferred.
