About the position

The Maintenance Software Developer at Sawdey Solution Services plays a crucial role in ensuring the security of our nation's digital infrastructure. This position involves working independently as a Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) or as part of a Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) team. The primary responsibilities include analyzing and devising software solutions, supporting existing solutions, and mentoring other team members as required. The developer will be responsible for creating new software solutions that enhance efficiencies for government customers, conducting developmental testing throughout the software acquisition process, and ensuring that technical performance specifications are met. In this role, the developer will provide information to the Program Manager (PM) regarding the design process and the product's compliance with contractual requirements. They will also be tasked with providing end-user support, troubleshooting as necessary, integrating new technologies into existing products, and reviewing/debugging other developers' work to ensure a robust and quality software product. The position requires a strong commitment to Information Assurance (IA) coding standards and maintaining appropriate documentation related to source code and other necessary documentation. The Maintenance Software Developer will also be involved in assessing system safety, compatibility with legacy systems, and the maturity of integrated technologies. They will validate system functionality in a mission context and document completed testing for each software release. This role is essential in supporting the overall mission of Sawdey Solution Services, which is to provide exceptional cybersecurity and operational support to government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and devise software solutions as a Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Support existing software solutions and modifications.
  • Mentor team members as required.
  • Create new software solutions that provide efficiencies for government customers.
  • Conduct Developmental Testing (DT) to verify that systems meet contractual and technical requirements.
  • Provide information to the Program Manager (PM) on design process progress and compliance with requirements.
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Integrate new technologies into existing products.
  • Review and debug other developers' work to ensure quality software products.
  • Ensure security and integrity of applications developed according to Information Assurance (IA) coding standards.
  • Document completed testing for each software release, including descriptions and assessments.
  • Assist with proposal development as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
  • Six (6) years of programming experience.
  • Two (2) years of .NET Development experience.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server (v. 2000+).
  • Experience with WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation).
  • API (Application Program Interface) experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • C#/VB programming skills.
  • Top Secret security clearance required with SCI Eligibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field is desired.
  • Experience in cybersecurity or government contracting is a plus.
