About the position

The Maintenance Software Developer will serve as a Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will be responsible for analyzing and devising software solutions, supporting existing solutions, and mentoring team members as required. This role is critical in ensuring the security of our nation's digital infrastructure, particularly in the context of cybersecurity challenges that impact national defense and the protection of sensitive information. The developer will work independently and as part of a Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) team, contributing to the software acquisition process by assisting in engineering design and development, and verifying that technical performance specifications are met. In this position, the developer will create new software solutions aimed at providing efficiencies for government customers. The role involves conducting developmental testing to ensure that systems meet contractual and technical requirements, and are ready for Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E). The developer will provide updates to the Program Manager (PM) regarding the design process, compliance with contractual requirements, and readiness for OT&E. Responsibilities also include providing end-user support, integrating new technologies, reviewing and debugging code, and ensuring adherence to Information Assurance (IA) coding standards. The Maintenance Software Developer will be expected to exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills, assess system safety and compatibility with legacy systems, and validate system functionality in a mission context. Documentation of testing processes and results is also a key responsibility, along with assisting in proposal development as needed. This role is based in Fort Campbell, KY, and requires a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and devise software solutions as a Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Support existing software solutions and modifications as needed.
  • Mentor other team members in software development practices.
  • Create new software solutions that provide efficiencies for government customers.
  • Conduct Developmental Testing (DT) to verify compliance with technical requirements.
  • Provide information to the Program Manager (PM) on design process progress and compliance with requirements.
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshoot software issues as necessary.
  • Integrate new technologies into existing products and review/debug other developers' work.
  • Ensure security and integrity of applications developed according to Information Assurance (IA) standards.
  • Document completed testing for each software release, including assessments and discrepancies.
  • Assist with proposal development as necessary.
  • Perform routine clerical, administrative, and logistics tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Six (6) years of programming experience.
  • Two (2) years of .NET Development experience.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server (v. 2000+).
  • Proficiency in WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation).
  • Experience with API (Application Program Interface) development.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • C#/VB programming skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field is desired.
  • Experience in cybersecurity or government contracting is a plus.
