About the position

The position involves performing all routine maintenance, repair, and landscaping for the airfield, landslide, and associated buildings. The employee will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the airport facilities are well-maintained and operational.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine airport maintenance such as painting, plumbing, sweeping, and mowing.
• Performs necessary landscape maintenance.
• Performs sprinkler system maintenance as necessary.
• Performs runway edge erosion repair and rubber removal.
• Removes snow and ice from airside and landslide.
• Washes cars.
• Seals cracks and performs concrete work as necessary.
• Operates and maintains equipment used in daily operations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand and transport self from building to building.
• Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various worksites.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and equipment manuals.
• Skill in the operation of hand tools and equipment such as mowers, tractors, gas powered trimmers, sweepers, and other maintenance tools.
• Ability to analyze problems with trees, bushes, grass and other landscaping ornamentals.
• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Texas driver's license required.

Nice-to-haves

• Herbicide applicators license a plus.
